I haven’t shot in the studio in over 2 years and am trying to start back up. I went to school for photography, but I just want to make sure everything I remember, is correct.
I use film, so the pressure is slightly larger to get it right.
Main questions:
Which light to set f-stop and shutter speed to? Key or fill?
Using a handheld light meter, if you get different f-stops on subject, what to set camera to?
And any other helpful setting tips!
Light is accumulative, you would set your f stop to the reading on the key side with the fill light on for dead on accuracy.

I wanted to know your opinion about these question, considering the photographer’s life behind the viewfinder and his capabilities with the scope of a rifle. Will the photographer still need training or can he use his skills in photography in focusing on subjects.
Oddly enough you may be right. I have been a professional photographer for many years and tried out clay pigeon shooting for the first time last week. I know that is very different from being a sniper, but I hit the first clay and had a 50% success rate overall which the Instructor said was quite impressive for someone who didn’t know one end of a gun from the other!

What camera, or specifications, or brand that is best for photography beginners? Price between $100-300.
I really want to get into photography and i have been taking mediocre pictures for a few years now. My camera now is only 6 mega pixels. At the moment i am only using the camera to learn angles. Now i would like to get a higher resolution camera to really start off. What are some that you know of that are cheap enough for my budget, and good for beginners?
Nikon Coolpix L100
10.0 Megapixels
$279.95

I’m looking to find a photographer or photography studio that does film noir type photography. The kind of photography they would do for the starletts back in the 30’s and 40’s for example. Glamour, black & white type.

I want 2 know how many years does it take 2 become a photographer and also how long does it take 2 become a desighner after high school.Which is easy becomeing a photographer or desighner?Does it cost alot? Will i make good money?
photography is an art. You either have the talent or you don’t. College isn’t required but it can help refine your talent. What’s required is that you have the talent and then that you develop your art.
Does it cost a lot? Take a look at adorama.com and check out a nice professional level digital SLR (say the Canon EOS 1d Mark III) and a good lens to go on it (such as the EF85 f/1.2L) – you’re looking at a combination nearing $10,000 in camera equipment without anything else like lighting and studio space. The high end side of the business can be VERY expensive.
Some people will tell you that it doesn’t have to be expensive – you can use a cheap camera and lens to get started. I’m not sure I agree with that anymore than I agree that an auto mechanic doesn’t need tools, he can start out with just a pair of pliers.
Will I make good money? That’s relative and depends on what you call good money. Around here, photographer assistants at studios you see in the mall or at amusement places make about $8 an hour. Self-employed shooters that do weddings make a pretty penny (and work a lot of hours for it) as do fashion shooters after they get a good reputation.
The US Dept. of Labor tells us that the median photographer earns $26,170. The lowest 10% earn $15,540 while the highest 10% earns $56,640+ Photojournalists have a different path to the work world than do commercial and portrait shooters. The photojournalist benefits greatly from, and may be required to have, a degree in journalism. Commercial shooters are more artists and most often follow the artists path.
