Event photography pricing for a corporate event?

An amateur photographer, I was able to secure a gig as a photographer for a corporate grand opening of large international company in Texas. The event is for 4 hours and includes candid shots of everyone there. The company wants to keep my digital card after completion of the event. I was offered a rate of $135 per hour. I specialize in quality candid "people shots". Should I negotiate a higher rate? Thank you in advance.

As an amateur you can’t bargain much. Apart from the money that you get for a days work it also gives you the exposure and hope for future assignments.$540 is not less in any way. Don’t put any conditions on the future use of photos . they are not going to be master pieces , which would go under hammer at sotheby’s! There is something called building relations, in business.

  1. Sounds good and after the event and you get paid tell them they don’t have the right to reproduce the pictures from the card that will be another $2000 you own the copyright
